Leaders are born twice.

What makes a good leader?

The spirit of KALAGA

This post is of special historical significance with KALAGA ‘s tributes to

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

Jai Hind

Of few men known by the title ‘Leader’ next to their name is this freedom fighter. For ‘Netaji’ literally means ‘Leader’.

Netaji/ Wikipedia

There are no good leaders and bad leaders. There are only born leaders.

A born leader is one who exhibits leadership characteristics right from childhood. Something as essential as obedience could go a long way in grooming a juvenile to be a functional leader. Obedience and Discipline are the first signs of a budding leader.

Born leaders are born twice. Once as themselves born into the world and next when they have realised that they possess the conviction to lead people. Most born leaders don’t take to being functional leaders simply because they haven’t discerned their own prowess as a leader or rather their lifestyle did not revolve much around leadership.

The second birth is the day of enlightenment where a born leader sees in himself a vast universe of responsibility to a common cause and thus allowing himself the opportunity for training and growth.

Leadership is an intrinsic quality. It can never be learnt or taught. One either has it or doesn’t. However leadership traits could be recognised at an early stage and stimulated to affect one’s awareness of the same . This awareness amounts to one’s second birth as a leader.

How can a bad leader even be a leader? The very word ‘leader’ is implicative of an efficacy in leadership.

A leader has a set objective as his goal to acheived by a stipulated time-frame of action.

His ability to reach out to people should impact the reaching of a common goal in the best interests of progress and welfare.

Respectfully, I disagree. I think Leadership is a skill that CAN be taught – in the right ways and to the right people xx

When you say ‘ right people ‘ , you agree to the fact not everyone is in the purview of being a ‘ good leader’.
      Your respectfully contradicting yourself.
Leave the benefit of doubt to you for bringing this up. Even if I agree that leadership can be taught, you will not have every student become a good leader.
I can vouch for a fact that most of the greatest leaders who changed history have never been to leadership schools.
      Thank you very much 🙏😊

I can see your point that you think leadership should be instilled naturally and that the leaders you’re looking at haven’t been to “leadership school”. I don’t think I’m contradicting myself at all – I’m saying I think leadership CAN be taught – but not at random and not en mass – it needs to be a very careful measure, given out to those with a hunger to learn and given by a leader with integrity and morals who won’t teach the wrong things or take advantage of students. I stand by what I think.

Sounds appealing. I don’t disagree that will takes over skill. One with will is the leader within and that’s why he agrees to learn leadership.
